She's played the Bluebird Cafe, Sunday Spotlight
Series. She's sung the National Anthem for the women's NCAA final four.
She wrote her first song at 11 years old and hasn't stopped since. She
is known as the "Country Fried Princess" . Country-rock to the core,
Jessica and her band continue to build their following around the
Southeast.
Jessica's musical influences are varied. With her dad a guitarist, she
would hear Fernando Sor classical exercises every morning as an alarm
clock. Listening to The Beatles, Delbert McClinton, Allison Krauss,
Vince Gill, and Dolly Parton helped shape Jessica's taste in music. When
she heard her first Dixie Chicks song, she entered her school talent
show (6th Grade) and decided she would live her life on stage. She is
consistently called a real entertainer due to her sense of humor and
performance ability.
In the past 3 years, Jessica has traveled all over the Southeast,
opening for acts like T. Graham Brown, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, The
LoCash Cowboys and The Classic Rock Allstars. She played the Martina
McBride after party at the Plex in Charleston, SC. She is comfortable
with an audience of five to 5000. During the 2007 NCAA Final Four in
Atlanta, Jessica and the band headlined for the pre-party at the Georgia
World Congress Center, to a crowd of over 5000.
With grace under pressure, Jessica continues to audition for contests
and performances. Most recently, she and her band won the Shift2Nissan
National Battle of the Bands competing against 80 acts across the
country she was the only country female artist in the competition.
Jessica walked away with $10K in prizes from the win. In 2006, she
decided to try her hand at Nashville Star auditioning first in the
masses in Atlanta not getting a call back, she was determined not to
give up and proceeded to audition in New York. Among the 1200+
auditioning there, Jess was called back getting an opportunity in front
of the producers. She wasn't the "character" they were looking for but
her original song and performance received high praise. In 2005, just a
few months after beginning her music career full-time, she auditioned
for the Colgate Country Showdown, winning all the way to the Regional
level. Jessica's successful background in musical theatre contributes to
her drive and ambition to write and perform.
Jessica is currently recording her second CD to be
released this fall.
